[Disclaimer: In writing this I am not a doctor in any way shape or form and I'm not saying that all doctors are wrong about their treatments/medicine prescribed. I'm not saying either that I can fix or diagnose any of your symptoms.Though what I am stating is that when it comes to the timeline of 2011-2019, and the $3.78 Trillion dollar revenue stream of the corporate medical world of America we live in today not all the people managing and directing doctors hold the patients interests in mind first and foremost. The majority of doctors themselves are good people and do try to help their patients, it's just that most of the time they tend to go through the motions they were taught in medical school or what the directors of the hospital have instructed and mandated on how to deal with patients and not apply critical thinking toward the problems of  said patients, usually just applying expensive band-aids instead of fixing the real issue. This can effect their job a lot of the time and has them thinking from a restricted point of view out of fear in a lot of cases. Example; A 45 year old male patient tells the doctor he eats fast food 5 times a week and complains of bloating, stomach discomfort, and his blood work shows high blood pressure along with a sharp rise in his cholesterol from the last check up. Most doctors have been trained to upset or offend the client and would just address the symptoms of his problems and not the root cause. First prescribing bloating medication and offering the patient high blood pressure and cholesterol medication (which can be very dangerous) . Instead of having him fix his diet which would cost the patient less and be less dangerous for the patient, but would not make the hospital almost any money.  All though sometimes the problem the client has may be so so out of control and or so progressed into later stages that all that can be done at apply these band-aids of medication in the begining of treatment.  ]

Written in May 2016:

A short article about the things that inspired me to become a massage therapist, and why I choose to train/work in these specific fields. I first learned of the power of massage 10 years ago when my mother was diagnosed with lupus after going to the hospital ER (emergency room) for chest pains and finding out her bodies immune system was attacking her vital organs. She started following the standard American medical wisdom of taking prescribed prednisone and other similar medications to address the symptoms of a problem, and not the root cause.  Seeing the doctor twice a month for changes in her treatment when things still weren't getting better [mostly consisting of minimal changes in the amount of prednisone prescribed or trying out one of the many other expensive drugs like it]. After following this regiment she had to go in and out of the hospital ER three more times in a 1 year and 11 month time frame. The very first time out of the hospital, she heard about and then decided to receive some superficial thoracic lymphatic drainage along with some light stretching of the rib cage and thoracic muscles around the chest wall to activate her deep lymphatic fluid flow. The combination of the therapist not taking into consideration the medication she was taking, an unhealthy diet, and no workout regiment [both things her doctors didn't stress/emphasize needed to take place to begin any sort of healing process that would work in the LONG TERM] landed her in the ER with heart attack like symptoms of intense chest pain following the massage therapy session. After going back to conventional hospital doctor's treatments and protocols, she had two more ER scares consisting of a kidney failure for the first and then a lung collapsing the second, she was a little fed up with conventional treatments after this and visited her nephew who is a chiropractic eight year degree doctor with a wealth of knowledge in many different fields and focuses on endocrinology and a whole body aproach to helping his patients (((  http://www.nmchiro.org/changes%20071912/Bio2012.pdf ))) and learned that the reason why her body reacted so violently when she tried the lymphatic drainage treatment out was because having a compromised immune system and then releasing inflammation from her lymphatic system that was being heavily suppressed by her original doctor's prescribed NSAID's (Non Steroid Anti Inflammatory Drugs)  is actually a very natural response from her body. Obviously which was not ready for any large movements of lymphatic fluid that were performed that day. After accessing her thoroughly her nephew then started her on a simple regiment of eating less processed foods and consuming more natural foods, taking natural organic vitamin supplements planned out by a doctor with her health interests in mind first and foremost. Along with the gentle provoking of the immune system to make it slowly defend itself/build itself up through water aerobic exercise, and periodical lymph drainage massage. She started to see some real change from this losing 80 pounds and enjoys even today the long lasting results that these simple and infinitely less expensive measures have achieved her then what all the hospitals she was previously going to had her doing.

In closing the amazing yet terrifying society that we live in today where you can make millions of dollars on your home computer, people seem to forget this simple fact that everyone on this planet that has a body is an athlete and must be aware of there body and respect it or you will most likely be in some form of pain or dis - ease.

So I implore who ever is reading this to research their own solutions, get a second, a third, even a tenth or a twentieth opinion, and know that the only person who is going to take charge of your own physical and even mental health is you.
